I have some silly friends...

I have some silly friends who like to cover their faces in pictures...

to hide their identity?....possibly...

or maybe they think their face is too gorgeous to have their picture taken and distributed for free...

or maybe they are trying to take over for Wilson...
I haven't heard any good advice coming from behind this fence... :P

meet one of my silly friends: this is Corny, I mean Courtney...

she had a birfday shout...HOORAY!
We took her out to get some Yodipity
Corny was like: "YO this is like, the best frozen YOgurt junk eva YO!"

and I was all: "YO girl, how much FroYO is in YO cup?! I gotta pay fa dat!"

needless to say we had a good time.

In other great and amazing news about Corny...she just got her mission call!
She has been called to serve in the Baltic mission Estonian speaking!
She is going to be a great missionary!
good luck corny!

the best days

oh what a GLORIOUS {4 day} weekend.

From Friday to Monday it consisted of:

Papa John's (Best pizza ever. No matter what the fools at Dominoes think)
staying up until 2:30 AM
sleeping in
Preparing Nick's special Valentine's present
receiving mine :)

Eating at Asian Kitchen
(fantastic place! Sushi was comparable to RA. I suggest the Lazy Dragon roll)
Seeing "Valentine's Day"
(pretty good, the sex references were a little much, but it was pretty funny)
Making valentines with the sunbeams
receiving valentines :)

Top: valentines from two of our sunbeams
Bottom: handmade card and fun ring from my mom

making Valentine's dinner for each other
eating outside to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather
eating the strawberry dream cake my mom brought over
enjoying lots and lots of yummy treats :)

drinking Apple-grape Martinelli's
staying up way too late
being productive - for once
making a new meal that we both LOVE
getting Nick a new computer
enjoying free frozen yogurt at Yodipity!
(Nick's home teaching companion owns the one at Mesa Riverview and it's so fun and delicious!)
and now we are about to watch Hook till we fall asleep.

weekends are the best when you put school completely aside.

best. weekend. ever.
What did you do?

Kristin

seal it. seal it good

School is getting so crazy.
They teach us something new and expect us to be able to do it on patients the next day...
YIKES!

Well this week we worked on sealants, polishing, and sharpening instruments.

A sealant, for those who don't know, is material that is put into the grooves of teeth that creates a "seal" over the tooth that prevents bacteria from getting in the grooves and creating a cavity. They are tricky little things that have to be done exactly right to work.

Well...here is my first attempt at a sealant...
(real tooth)
Well, I don't know if you can tell, but it's a pretty crappy first attempt. I wasn't supposed to make an "ice rink" as my teacher said.

here is my second attempt on another tooth...
MUCH better. The sealant is supposed to cover up the grooves, yet the grooves are still supposed to be visible . No "ice rink" this time.

Nick is also doing really well in school. He loves his classes, except for one, but he is enjoying this semester so far. (Even though we both get home way too late)

SO, after the week of craziness...we decided to go out this weekend.
It was also our one year anniversary of the day we got engaged! WOW! Time really flies. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and played with our food a bit...

cat's eye?

yes that is my tongue...

Also this weekend we had the incredible opportunity to see Nick's uncle George receive the Melchizedek priesthood. His son who just came home from his mission ordained him, and then George ordained his son, who just turned 12, a deacon. It was an amazing experience! The spirit was so strong and everyone in the room was emotional. I'm so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and see God's power manifest in good people on the earth. I'm excited for the day when their family will be sealed in the temple and I'm grateful that Nick and I are sealed together forever. I wish everyone could have felt the spirit that I felt yesterday.

Anyway, have a happy week and be grateful for ALL that you have!

Kristin
