surprise

i got such a great surprise this week
i am the miamaid advisor in our ward and on wednesday i went to mutual straight after work
we had an activity planned for a modest fashion show - as far as i was concerned -
when i got there the young women said they all had to go get ready for the fashion show
then another leader came to get me saying the girls were ready in room 8
when i opened the door i was greeted by a loud...

"surprise!!!"

the amazing young women in my ward threw me a baby shower
it was such an incredible surprise and I am still so speechless

the girls had everything decked out with decorations, games, food and gifts
My favorite part was the "advice table" where all the very wise 12-17 year olds gave me advice on how to take care of a baby! HAHA. loved it. laughed through the whole thing

baby food guessing contest. eat it or sniff it. whatever it takes to guess it!

yummy food!

the girls cracking up over their "super great" advice

my beautiful miamaids :)

"don't sit on your baby"

Love these girls!

nick's birthday

We have been celebrating Nick's birthday this week!
My man is 26 and still as handsome as ever
Homemade german chocolate cake. the only cake my man wants on his birthday, ever. family tradition
some of the crew. haha just noticed Kim looks really confused at something

and of course he has to cut the cake with the knife he made :)

inside shot of cake. double layer with frosting in the middle. yum

the "only right way" to eat german chocolate cake

and two of the only people who eat it that way :)
once again, family tradition

love this picture of Nick's sisters. kinda trippy, shows off the crazy mirrors above our table
the buds

and yes, i was still in my scrubs from work that day...

thank you everyone who came to celebrate with us on Nick's birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!

Currently: I am at 25 weeks 6 days. Baby boy is dancing on my bladder which is super uncomfortable, but I hear it's better than rib gouging.
Sleeping has become quite an event, switching from side to side with aching back and hips. I have been told a body pillow is a life saver and I think I'm breaking down enough to get one this weekend.
Other than that, everything else is good. Still not sick, still eating well, and baby is kicking and dancing all the time. Must be a happy healthy boy!
