spring CRAZY break

Ok so MY school is lame and had spring break last week. Don't ask me why they decided to be IDIOTIC, the just did. Nick and I were kinda, ok REALLY, bummed that our breaks weren't in the same week, but whatev. I got a lot done last week :)

SOOOO....

Spring: the season of the year following winter and characterized by the budding of trees, growth of plants, the onset of warmer weather, etc.

Break: a brief rest, as from work or school

Compliments of dictionary.com

Dictionary.com is the bomb and I like to use the definitions found therein on a daily basis...so ya. OK, so let's evaluate. I guess it's spring right? That's what they tell me at least. They also tell me that it was in the 90's the other day so...I think some one's lying to me. It's definitely not winter because there isn't any snow..... * 0_0* and I guess there is what you would call GROWTH of plants. So my point is it's spring. Even though I don't believe it. Case closed. moving on. Break sounds nice huh? No work, no school, just rest. Well put these two together and what do you get? A LIE. That's right, it's a big fatty cheeseburger fried in grease lie. Spring BREAK is not a break at all. At least not in the world of those who are planning receptions and such (that would be me).

It was a fun week, don't get me wrong. It just was so CRAZY busy! I feel another list coming on...

1. PICTURES

I spent a whole morning this week just looking through a GAZILLION pictures for the wedding video. I didn't realize how many pictures I am in with other people. It's hard to find pictures of just me when I was in my awkward blossoming years of Jr. High. I'm not too disappointed that I didn't find many of those pictures. Note to self: take more single pictures of future offspring so they don't get frustrated when creating future wedding video...

2. REGISTER (ideas)

I'm not visually creative. I can't see how things will fit together in my mind, so I was feeling a little overwhelmed with the idea of walking into Bed Bath and Beyond and registering for things that went together. My mom took me there to ease my mind a bit and she should me how it's no big deal to mix and match and just have FUN. Now I'm really excited for when Nick and I get to go together :)

3. SHOPPING

My mom wanted to look around and see what kinds of dress options were available for my 5 friends, 2 sisters, and 3 soon to be sisters-in-law. We already knew that for the friends we wanted them in back dresses (to match the black suites the men will be wearing) and then we would add one of my colors to their ensemble in some way. SOOO...we went to Dillard's (favorite :) and after maybe 15 minutes of looking around we saw these super cute bright pink cardigans that are just PERFECT for wearing over a cute little black dress. Want to know the best part? There were only five of them and they were in all the right sizes and they were on SALE! So It didn't really look that great on the hanger...MODELIN'!

We're still working on the sister's outfits :) Oh and I also got a REALLY cute outfit for the wedding dinner that I can't wait to wear!

4. DRESS ALTERATIONS

My dress is beautiful. I LOVE IT. I love it more each time I wear it. It's very simple. It doesn't have any sparklies or lace or frill, but that's what I love about it. It's Ivory, which goes really nice with my skin and hair, and it's in an A-line cut, which is very flattering on my figure. My veil? Pretty much Rockin. I wasn't too sure I wanted a veil at first, but when they told me it came free with the dress I was like, why not? Since my dress is so simple I went with a simple, yet lacy sparkly veil. I'm kicking my self in the pants for not ever taking a picture of my dress before I took it in to get altered, but oh well. It was a little big in the shoulders and there was some ribbing down the front that was a little awkward for my "girls", but I already can't wait to get it back. Love that dress. Love NICK more :)

Here is a shot of the veil. And yes that is grass in the bottom left corner! I like being outdoors k?

5. FLOWERS

My soon to be mother-in-law is the sweetest lady EVER. She is in charge of the flowers for the wedding party. Well, I wanted to get a better idea of what I want for my flowers before I actually went with Nick's mom to pick them out. So my mom and I went to Michelle, who is amazing, and got a better idea of the kinds of flowers that I want and what I want the bouquet to look like. Flowers are so fun and they smell so delicious too. Gerber daisies and Kermits are some of my favorites right now. We have some cute ideas, but I don't want to give all the surprises away :)

6. DOCTOR

Yes, that's right. I survived. It wasn't as HORRIBLE as I thought it was going to be, but I'm not going to lie...it was pretty bad. It is just so AWKWARD. But, survivable, bearable, endurable, because you are really doing it for someone you love more than anything. I still think we need to find a different way to get checked. Anybody willing to figure out an alternate route? Figure that out by next March. Thanks.

I also went to the eye doctor. That one was WAY less awkward...thankfully. I got my new prescription for glasses, and I'm sure some of you are shocked because you didn't even know I ever had glasses, but I did OK? Nick and I could have been twinners all this time had I not lost my glasses in my jr. year. My Left eye is practically perfect, but my right eye is weak to the max. I'm not even fooling. I can hardly see anything out of that eye alone. Apparently my right eye has been using my left eye as a crutch for years. It brings a whole new definition to the term "lazy eye"

7. RASCAL FLATTS

One very awesome and exciting thing was that I got to go to the RASCAL FLATTS concert! I really enjoy their music and they are really fun to listen to in concert. My sweet, dear, amazing cousin Amelia TREATED me to the show and we practically had front row seats. I am ENTIRELY indebted to you Amelia! I'll find some way to pay you back for your generosity. Thanks for inviting me! I had so much fun :)

8. NICK

Nick and I have spent every spare moment together. I love him so much. I seriously CANNOT WAIT to be married to him. He is so sweet and kind and would do anything for me. He wrote me a love note and gave it to me last week and I cried it was so beautiful. He is my best friend and it is such a pain to be away from him EVER. Like right now...

9. FLAGSTAFF

So after such a busy, yet so FUN (except for maybe one thing...)week, my family and Nick and I went up to my grandpa's cabin in Flagstaff. Even though we were only up there for a couple days we had SO much fun! It was so beautiful up there. Nick practically froze, but I kept him warm :)

So that is the DL on my SPRING crazy BREAK. It was super crazy fun and I wish I never have to go back to school again...
