10 days

The count down till the wedding day has begun! OK, well I've been counting down since Jan 30th...but counting down from 10 seems so much more official don't you think?
So today's countdown list is:

10 Things That Still Need to be Done

1. Finish Wedding Video
My Grandpa Saunders ("papa saun" this is only funny if you're Japanese) has crazy video making equipment like the PRO's and so Nick and I have been traipsing out to Chandler to scan picture after picture after picture. Our children are going to be so thankful that ALL of their pictures will be digital. Anyway, we're almost done! All we have to do is add music and make sure all the pictures are in order. Grandpa has done so much for us in this process. He even re-scanned some of our pictures that didn't work out. Love him

2. Finish Moving Into Our New Pad
Nick and I are renting the upstairs from my awesome Grandma the Crane. She's got a HUGE house and she's the only one there. We're pretty excited because rent at casa de la Crane is WAAAAAY cheaper than anything else we looked into. So I have packed up most of my stuff and shipped it off to our "new pad" but nick has yet to pack anything up yet. He says he doesn't have much to take, but he'll start packing and then wish he had two more days.
Funny Story:
My mom and I tried to explain to my twin brother, who is 3, that we were packing my stuff up to go and live at Grandma the Crane's house. He cried. The next day when I came out of my room he laughed out loud and with a big smile on his face exclaimed "Kristin! You already moved back!" he hugged me and then cried again when I told him I was still moving out. I'm going to miss him

3. Figure Out Nasty Things Like... insurance (gag)
Yuck, I really am gagging. I won't dwell on this for long. Let's just say insurance is LAME and we still have to figure it all out. Yuck. Did I say that already? No? Let me say it many more times for increased emphasis...yuck, yuck, YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!
(lol that word looks funny to me now. Is it even a word?)

4. Picking Our Wedding Pictures
We took our Pre-Wedding pictures a couple Saturdays ago and now we have to sift through all our amazing photos, 365, and pick only 40 to keep. It took us forever to choose our engagement pictures, which are rockin, but we don't have that much time until we're going to need all of those pictures for the wedding. There's only 10 days! (hence the list of 10)

5. Go to the Temple
This Saturday I get to go through the temple for the very first time! I'm so excited and can't believe this day is finally approaching! Everything is ready for that special day before the other super special day :) You know what else is great? Nick's Aunt is being sealed to her sweatheart a couple hours AFTER I go through the temple and so I'll be able to attend a sealing before I attend my own! I'm so excited and nervous, but mostly excited.

6. Dental Hygiene Orientation
SOOO because I got into dental hygiene school, I have to attend an "orientation" meeting. when is this meeting of horrid boredom to be held? Only the day before my wedding. That's right. But it's ok. At least it's not ON my wedding or on my HONEYMOON. THAT would NOT be good...

7. Background Music
My super awesome amazing friend Angela is putting together a playlist of the most romantic lovey dovey songs you can possibly imagine for our reception. She has some of the best music of anyone I know. My reception is almost literally in your hands Ang. I trust you though :)

8. School, SCHOOL, SCHOOL!
ok, well I guess this one isn't the HUGEST deal to me, since my semester has literally been a cake walk. Nevertheless, I Kristin, having taken many classes in all my days, still find it almost painstakingly necessary to do well on my whimpy finals. Nick has WAY harder finals than I do, and might even have a final on the night of our wedding dinner, which he can hopefully get out of. I'm so glad we won't have any school for the first little bit of our marriage. No studying will be nice. I can't WAIT for summer!

9. Start THANK YOU Letters
My mom thinks that I should already be writing up all of my thank you notes already. But what's the rush? I'm not even married yet. What's the opinion here? Would it be weird recieving a THANK YOU letter before someone was married? Maybe not. Maybe I'll start writing letters to people whose things I HAVE used.

10. Odds and Ends
All the BIG things were done and taken care of a month ago. Now it's all the little Nity Grity things that need to be taken care of. Like, making sure everything is lined up with the food, and the lights, and the cake, and the flowers. Making sure everyone knows what time to be where and how they're going to wear this or that or what hair style to have. Making sure the centerpieces are finished and that my dress is steamed. Getting the dads, brothers and groomsmen fitted for their tuxes. Making sure the brides maids and sisters have their hair pieces and dresses. And don't forget the wedding License. Weddings are crazy. But it all pulls together in the end. I can't wait!

So that about sums it up I think.

stay tuned as the countdown continues!

magnificent day of love

Hey ya'll! So I know I haven't posted in a century, or two, but here is an UPDATE!!

WooHoo!

So first of all Valentines day was amazing. the end.
here are some pictures of the fantastic day of happiness :)

Here is my wonderful man bringing me my beautiful flowers!
My man knows how much I like the yellow roses

Aren't they just GORGEOUS?

My man made this pot/vase too. He is the best. the end

For dinner we ate at with my fam
I'm going to miss the free meals...

SO that about raps up The magnificent day of love, but guess what I did? I'm so awesome and crafty that I decided to dry all of my beautiful yellow roses my wonderful fiance gave me

Where exactly did I dry my yellow beauties?
the laundry room of course!

Since my mom is like, the bom.com (click!) and is the most awesome flower person ever, she is going to make a flower arrangement with my little yellow cuties.
AND since these are my reception colors:

a cute little bouquet of dried yellow roses will look so cute at my reception somewhere.
like, maybe at the sign in table...

anyway, that's your update

en-gey-jd

SO I'm sure you have already heard and all, but I'm engaged! I thought I would do a cute little post on how it happened :)

SO let's give some background. It didn't come as a surprise at all. We have been talking about getting engaged for a couple of weeks and he even told me (last week) that he was going to go look at rings with his mom. This was the order in which Nick thought things should go. Get ring...talk to dad...propose. So I thought to myself, "Even if he does get a ring today (last Friday), he won't be able to talk with my dad because my dad's leaving on a camp out today and will be gone all weekend."
Well, Nick is sneaky, and he kinda sorta tricked me....FALSE. I was never tricked whatsoever. When Nick called me Friday afternoon asking me to go to dinner with him and wanting me to dress nice, I knew he was proposing. I was confused though. How did he talk with my dad so soon? He only barely looked for rings that day! (last Friday).

SO, I came home very nervous, knowing that tonight was the night and my family only confirmed my suspicions. They all acted like they knew something that I didn't and they couldn't stop smiling and getting excited about me going out with Nick that night. So Nick picked me up and we went to dinner. I hardly ate anything I was so anxious. After dinner we had filled our bellies to their maximum capacity...

Me: "What are we going to do now?"

Nick: "I don't know. Want to do something random?"

Me: *WHAT?!* "Ummm...sure, like what?" **Nick NEVER wants to do anything random!
What's he planning?**

Nick: "Want to go see the house I was born in?" **sweet smile**

Me: ".......sure......" **Ya, ok, that's extremely random**

------15 minutes later, driving-------

Me: "So, where is the house you born in?"

Nick: **nervousness** "Oh, well, um, it's over by the um...by the temple..." **sideways glance**

Me: **light bulb of understanding** "oh ok" :D

SO we ended up looking at the house he was born in for a grand total of 2 seconds, and then Nick CASUALLY asks "Want to walk around the temple for a bit?" So we're walking around the temple and he's SOO nervous and cute and I'm laughing because I TOTALLY know what's going on. SO then we sat down on a bench in front of the temple and he's hugging me. At this point we have our heads against each other and he's so nervous that I can feel his racing heart beat through his head. I tried to be funny so I reached around to his neck and felt his pulse. He got embarrassed and pulled my hand away. SO then he says "Can I ask you something?" and I say "Of course" and he gets down on one knee, says a bunch of sweet things and then asks me to marry him. Can you guess what I said? "YES!"
and yes I did cry, but he's used to my sobbing at this point

so here is the ring. It's not the best picture...it's WAY better in person, but this is the best my camera could do for the time beingHe did good eh? (that's right, I'm legit Canadian)

I can't wait to keep you all up to date with all the goings on as we plan the reception and I prepare to go to the temple!
Oh and guess what?! I already have a dress! We'll have to save that for next time.... :)

Dream Dress

OK, just so ya'll know, I"M ENGAGED! Crazy weird huh? I can't hardly believe it myself! So naturally I went looking for a dress online and I found this! Isn't it beautiful? I love it so much. It's probably way too expensive though. They conveniently left out the price...
Do any of you have any thoughts about the dress?

We're shooting for May 16th. This could change though once we figure out where the reception is going to be and we schedule the wedding with the Temple.

Well, I'm kinda out of it right now, so that's all I really wanted to say. I guess many people want to hear the engagement story, but I'll have to save that for another post :)

my hair is ringing
